    • Studium dotyczy oceny podstawowych parametrów fizjologicznych (tolerancja glukozy, ciśnienie tętnicze krwi). W pracy dokonano porównania parametrów fizjologicznych w dwóch grupach dzieci i młodzieży. Pierwsza grupa składała się z 225 dzieci i młodzieży poczętych z zastosowaniem procedury IVF. Druga grupa składała się również z 225 dzieci i młodzieży z populacji ogólnej. Dwie grupy zostały skorelowane co do wieku i płci. 
      W grupie dzieci z IVF odnotowano wzrost ciśnienia (skurczowego i rozkurczowego) tętniczego krwi. Podobnie u dzieci z IVF stwierdzono wzrost stężenia glukozy we krwi na czczo.

    • Jest to już klasyczne studium naukowe dokumentujące zwiększone ryzyko wystąpienia wrodzonych wad rozwojowych u dzieci narodzonych z zastosowaniem technik IVF i ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection). Autorzy posłużyli się wynikami trzech australijskich rejestrów urodzeń. Okres obserwacji wynosił 12 miesięcy. W grupie dzieci po IVF i ICSI odnotowano dwukrotny wzrost ryzyka tzw. dużych wad wrodzonych w porównaniu z grupą dzieci narodzonych z poczęcia naturalnego.

    • W opracowaniu przedstawiono dane dotyczące częstości wrodzonych wad serca rejestrowanych przez Paryski rejestr wad wrodzonych (Paris registry of congenital malformations). Grupa dzieci w rejestrze po IVF obejmowała 1583 osoby, grupa kontrolna obejmowała 4104 osoby. Badaniem objęto cztery rodzaje wrodzonych wad serca. W tej grupie stwierdzono wzrost częstości występowania złożonej wrodzonej wady serca- tetralogii Fallota. Tetralogia Fallota w grupie dzieci po IVF występowała ponad dwukrotnie częściej niż w grupie kontrolnej.

    • Studium obejmuje dużą grupę dzieci urodzonych z zapłodnienia pozaustrojowego (IVF). Za pomocą Szwedzkiego Rejestru Nowotworów dokonano porównania częstości nowotworów w grupie dzieci z IVF oraz z populacją dzieci poczętych w sposób naturalny. 
      W grupie dzieci z IVF zaobserwowano wzrost liczby nowotworów (53 przypadki), przy wartości oczekiwanej-38 przypadków. Reprezentacja poszczególnych nowotworów w grupie dzieci z IVF jest nierównomierna. Na 53 przypadki nowotworów aż 18 w grupie dzieci z IVF stanowią nowotwory krwi, w tym na pierwszym miejscu znalazła się ostra białaczka limfoblastyczna. Autorzy opracowania przedstawili wzrost liczby nowotworów u dzieci urodzonych z zastosowaniem zapłodnienia pozaustrojowego.
